Alice Faye Layton Wise Dukes


Mrs. Alice Faye Layton Wise Dukes, age 83, of Measnville, passed away December 10, 2025, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  Faye was born in Zebulon, daughter of the late Roy Layton, Sr. and the late Evelyn Mae Martin Layton.  She grew up in Pike County, lived in Ohio for several years before moving back to Georgia and making her home in Meansville. 

Faye worked as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart for several years until she retired. She was also a pink lady at Upson Regional Hospital. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Zebulon where she was active in the choir. She also played the piano and worked on the kitchen committee.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and going places with her friend, Joanne.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wayne Phillip Wise and Norman “Buster” Dukes, her great-grandson, Conner Perry, and her brother, Roy “Jeff” Layton, Sr.

She is survived by her daughters: Julie (Robert) Bunn and Gracie Wise; grandchildren: Shane (Linda) Bunn, Joe Bunn, Allan (Rebecca) Stewart, Trinity Pittman and Cherith (Darius) Chavis; special sisters-in-law: Judy Hungate, Lou Wise and Margie Layton; three dear friends: Bobbie Watkins, Joanne Bailey and one who has passed away, Barbara Haywood; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11 a.m., in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5015 US-19, Zebulon, with Dr. Bud Gleaton officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Molena.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
