Alice “Gabby” Jane Williams Miller

Mrs. Alice “Gabby” Jane Williams Miller, age 88, of Hollonville, passed away November 29, 2024, at Pike Manor in Zebulon. Gabby grew up in Atlanta, daughter of the late Charles Hovis Williams and Thelma O’Dell Crawford Williams. She attended Brown High School in Atlanta where she excelled at sports. She played softball and basketball and was on both the drill team and rifle team. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. In her early years, she worked at S&S Cafeteria, Woolco and Woolworths and later at Park Street United Methodist Church. She and her husband, “Red” lived in the historical community of Adair Park for 40 years.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #258 in Jonesboro where she served as President and at #217 in Red Oak where she served as La Presidente. 

 

Along with her parents, Gabby was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Ron” (Red) DeWolf Miller, twin brother, Hovis Willie “Bill” Williams, sister, Anne Snider and grandson, Chris Jenkins.

 

She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Jones (David) of Williamson and Claire Rainbolt (Dale) of Hampton; grandchildren: Tony Jones (Jamie), Daniel Jones (Andrea), Crystal Williams (Terry), Stephanie Westover; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

 

The family would like to thank Pike Manor and Brightmoor Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Gabby.
