Alton Leo Silver, Sr

Mr. Alton Leo Silver, Sr. age 82, of Forsyth, passed away October 5, 2025.  Alton grew up in Concord, son of the late Buford Silver and the late Edna Jackson Silver. He was an eight-year veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. In his early years, Alton worked for Lamar EMC, then at Martha Mills in Thomaston and later was an electrician and maintenance technician at Atlas Roofing in Hampton. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd Harmon, brothers, Lonnie Silver and Steve Marshall.


He is survived by his wife: Carol Silver; children: Alton Silver, Jr. (Kate), Tonya Bullard, Scott McKenzie Silver (Sarah), Brad Harmon (Charlene), Dana Harmon, and Lisa Harmon; sister: Laverne Crank; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor David Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, on Hwy. 36 in Thomaston.


Friends may visit the family on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.  


Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, 10170 US Hwy. 19, Zebulon, is assisting the family with arrangements.
