Another Shooting In Thomaston!

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 6:32 a.m., officers with the Thomaston Police Department responded to 330 Parkway Drive in reference to a reported shooting.


Upon arrival, officers located Curtis Walker, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm. During the initial investigation, officers learned the incident stemmed from a burglary that reportedly occurred over the weekend.


Investigators determined that Mr. Walker observed Donta Kindall sitting inside one of the vehicles at the residence earlier this morning. Mr. Kindall had been identified as a suspect in the burglary. When Mr. Walker confronted Mr. Kindall regarding the incident, an altercation occurred, during which Mr. Kindall allegedly shot Mr. Walker.


Mr. Kindall was later located near Weaver Park by a deputy with the Upson County Sheriff's Office and was taken into custody without incident. The firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered from a trash can at Weaver Park.


The Thomaston Police Department would like to commend the swift actions of responding officers and investigators, whose quick response and coordinated efforts led to the prompt apprehension of the suspect. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Upson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.


No additional injuries were sustained by responding officers or the suspect during the incident.
