Bank Robbery Suspect Apprehended

On July 9, 2025, officers from the Griffin Police Department responded to Regions Bank on Taylor Street regarding an attempted robbery. A male suspect reportedly passed a note to a bank teller demanding money before fleeing the scene without obtaining any funds.

The City of Griffin Police Department began a thorough Investigation. Utilizing area

surveillance footage and data from Flock Safety cameras, investigators were able to positively identify the suspect vehicle involved.

On July 10, 2025, the suspect vehicle was located, and units from both Patrol and CID conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, identified as William Flannagan, was taken into custody without incident. He is currently charged with attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault, and an unrelated warrant out of Thomaston GA.
