Barbara Ellen Lupes Spangenberg

Barbara Ellen Lupes Spangenberg, age 29 and holding, of Concord, passed away February 2, 2025, with her family and loved ones by her side. Barbara grew up in New Jersey and also lived in Florida, Tennessee and New York before settling in Georgia.  She was a hardworking lady who enjoyed gambling, fishing, camping, outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Barbara was affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Barb to her family and friends.

She loved to cook and make homemade bread. She lived with her son who was a primary caretaker.  Barbara never met a stranger and always made sure everyone ate something. She enjoyed going to all her grandchildren’s events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Dorothy Lupes, and her husband Donald Howard “Don” Spangenberg.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Jean Ramsey of Molena, Rachael Godwin of Williamson and Lee Spangenberg of Concord; grandchildren: Flint Ramsey (Victoria Kirkpatrick), Ty Ramsey, Gabrielle Stinchcomb (Lane), Kevin Godwin and Summer Rae Godwin; great-grandchildren: Reid and Rennan Ramsey; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A family service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at a later date.
