Barbara Goolsby Conine

Barbara Goolsby Conine, age 93, of Griffin, passed away August 8, 2026. Barbara was born in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Willie Lee Goolsby and Ella Phillips Goolsby. She grew up in Jonesboro GA, and later her family moved to Ellaville, GA. She married Thomas Conine October 30, 1953, at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Forest Park, GA where she and Tom were long time members. Barbara and Tom raised their family in Forest Park and eventually retired to Lake Oconee where they joined Madison Presbyterian Church. Barbara loved traveling with Tom. Their adventures included all fifty states, multiple European countries, Egypt, Central America, South America, and Australia. While living on Lake Oconee, you could find Tom and her fishing especially when the dogwoods bloomed. Finally, they settled in Griffin, to be near their children. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Griffin.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Conine, and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children: Phillip Conine (Dee), Marcia Conine Autterson (Ted), Steven Conine (Pamela); grandchildren: Amy Long (Michael), Alisa Bunch (Parks), Russell Conine (Emily), Andrew Conine, Austin Conine (Abby) and great-grandchildren: Jackson and Margaret Long, Pierce and Leighton Bunch, Graham Conine and soon to be Ryland Conine.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, August 15, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00, at First Presbyterian of Griffin, 1349 Macon Rd, Griffin, GA.
