Betty C. Hammock

Mrs. Betty C. Hammock, age 80. of Thomaston, died Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services for Mrs. Hammock will be held on Sunday, January 12, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.  Dr. Rex King will officiate, and interment will follow in Flint River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, January 12, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Hammock was born in Upson County on February 8, 1944, to the late Edd S. Williams and the late Ruth Daniel Williams.  She was a 1962 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and had been employed with the William Carter Company as a seamstress and later retired from Chief Manufacturing.  She enjoyed yard work and reading.  Mrs. Hammock was a member of Flint River Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammock was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Hammock, and two sisters: Imogene Cook and Ann Peters. She is survived by two children: Marchelle Hammock and Eddie Hammock, both of Thomaston; a grandson, Stephen Hammock, of Thomaston; and three great grandchildren: Elana, Isaac, and Olivia Hammock.
