Mrs. Beverly Ann Williams Maddox, age 57, of Barnesville, passed away on November 2, 2025. Beverly grew up in Pike County and graduated from Pike County High School in 1987. She married Jeff Maddox, who dedicated his career to serving in the military. Together they lived for many years at Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Benning, Georgia; and the longest at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where Beverly served as church secretary at St. Bethlehem Church. For the past five years, they made their home in Barnesville. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Beverly was an unforgettable light that touched everyone she ever met. Family was one of the most important things to her and she loved making memories and spending time with her husband and children. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and watching movies, particularly Harry Potter and The Polar Express. She also loved to read and spent countless hours engrossed in a good book. She could often be found crafting decor or gifts for family and friends. Beverly enjoyed traveling and going on adventures that included: fishing, museums, aquariums, zoos, and historical sights. She loved shopping and picking out gifts for other people; she was an incredibly selfless person, always thinking of others. She was known for her green thumb and could grow anything, many homes where she lived are graced with her beautiful work. Beverly loved animals and took care of many during her lifetime; making friends with dogs, cats, birds, deer, and even a squirrel or two. She loved the Lord and spent countless hours reading her Bible and devotionals, taking notes, and sharing that love with friends and family. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she made each one feel magical to those around her. Beverly attended Christ Chapel in Zebulon.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Jeff Maddox; children: Carolann Maddox (David Grizzle), Mary Kathryn Carrell (Cody), and Jeffrey Carlton “J. C.” Maddox (Kirsten Kamradt); grandchildren: Kyndall and Maddox, and her mother: Carolyn Williams.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. A service honoring Beverly’s life will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
