Mr. Charles Herbert Wright, affectionately known to many as “Charlie” and to others as “Herb,” passed away October 19, 2025. Charlie was born in Atlanta, son of the late Waymon and Juanita Wright.
Charlie was a dedicated and hardworking man. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 51 years before retiring as a postage machine repairman. Afterward, he continued to stay active, working for the Clayton County School System managing the concession stand at football games. Even after retiring from that position, he remained a loyal volunteer, helping out whenever he was needed.
Charlie enjoyed cutting grass. He not only cut his own yard, but also the yards of several of his neighbors. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family and taking care of them. One of his greatest joys was being with his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Charles Wright, sister, Bootsie Wright.
He is survived by his sons: Brad Wright (Veronica) and Richard Thompson (John DeGrasse); grandchildren: Danni Preston, Audi Wright, Jenny Wright, Bobby Wright, Nicole Davis, Gabriel Wright (Alex), and Jacob Wright; great-grandchildren: Kylie Davis, Stephen Davis, Jr., Levi Copeland, Tony Wright, Chelsea and Megan Meier, and Jozilyn Wright; brother: Skip Wright; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, October 27, 2025, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
