Cherry A Nix

Mrs. Cherry A Nix was born April 30, 1942, in Augusta, Ga. to the late Rhunelle and Clayton Armstrong. Growing up in East Point and College Park, she met and married her late husband Robert “Cootie” Nix and were married for 57 years until he went home to be with the Lord in 2018. During her life she drove a school bus and worked in the lunchroom at Flint River Academy, was Sunday School secretary, worked payroll at D&N Electric. Cherry enjoyed shopping, traveling with the Prime Timers and singing in the choir at First Assembly in Griffin. Her most treasured time though, was spent with family, her children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband and son in law, James “Curt” Watson, sisters in law, Betty & Charlie Harper, Ruth Martin, niece and nephew, Holly Jenkins and Ronny Harper.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Watson; son, David (Lisa) Nix; brothers, Mark (Teresa) Armstrong, and Matthew (Patti) Armstrong; grandchildren, Pastor David Nix Jr., MaryKate (Hayden) Olive, and Hannah (Nicholas) Schlottman; great granddaughter, Wyatt Lindsey Olive; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home. A service celebrating Cherry’s life will follow at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Crum and Dr. Glen Wolf officiating.
