Darrell Ray Williams

Mr. Darrell Ray Williams, age 67, of Concord, passed away October 22, 2024.  Darrell grew up in Concord and attended Pike County Schools.  He worked for Mead Lumber Company in Greenville and then as a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar in Griffin.  He enjoyed cooking, working on automobiles and spending time with his grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather:  Imogene Coggins Nixon and Willie “Sam” Nixon, his father Virgil Lewis Williams, Sr., brother Virgil Lewis Williams, Jr., sister Sandra May and grandson Tristian Coley.

 

He is survived by his wife: Susan Williams; children: Derrick Snelson (Jennifer), Mandy Coley (Todd), Michele Granger (Trent) and Melissa Turner (Dustin); grandchildren: Shelby Snelson, Kimber Snelson, Tyler Coley, Trenton Coley, Mikayla Coley, Coen Coley, Landen Granger, Paisley Granger, Ryleigh Turner and Jaxon Turner; brother: Ricky Williams (Carol); and many nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may visit the family on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11 a.m., in Pike County Assembly of God Church, 4990 Hwy. 19, Zebulon. Pastor Tommy Smith and Mr. Dennis Bishop will officiate. Burial will follow at Neal Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord. Moody Daniel Funeral Home
