Mr. David Daniel “DD” Edwards, Sr., age 87, of Meansville, passed away December 2, 2025. David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He lived for many years in Los Angeles, California before moving to Georgia. He worked for Western Airlines for 19 years as an aircraft technician and served as president of their gun club. After the merger with Delta Airlines, he continued his career for an additional eight years before retiring.
David loved being on the water and owned a boat he affectionately named Elvira. He enjoyed horticulture, yardwork, fishing with his son, Kelly, and he spent countless hours building detailed model ships. David was health-conscious and a fitness enthusiast. After his retirement, he took a part-time position at Center Field Sports and Fitness in Zebulon, where he enjoyed talking with members and helping them reach their goals.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill and sister, Eilene.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Edwards; children: Terri Contraras, Kelly Edwards (Lynn), David Daniel Edwards, Jr.; step-son: Heath Coker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for David will be held at a later date.
