David Leon Thompson

Mr. David Leon Thompson age 71 of Atlanta, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Madison Health and Rehab.

Mr. Thompson was born on December 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Millard Thompson and the late Gladys Lambert Thompson.  He worked for McKesson as a Truck Driver and was a member of Midway Church of God.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Baker.

Survivors include his wife Cheryle Griffin Thompson, daughter, Gina (Jeff) Burrand of Buchanan, son, Brian (Katherine) Thompson of Smyrna, brothers, Lamar (Kenna) Thompson of Baxley, Ricky (Terri) Thompson of Covington, Ronnie (Becki) Thompson of Lynn Haven, Florida, sisters, Elaine (Gary) Cloer of Loganville, Kathy (Beau) Meyers of McDonough, grandchildren, Elizabeth Baker, Justin Baker, Jeremy Goolsby, and numerous, great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
