Dennis Eugene Norton

Mr. Dennis Eugene Norton, age 79, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away February 25, 2026.  He was born in Porterdale, Georgia, son of the late Thomas Norton and the late Mamie Miller Wilson. Dennis was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.  He worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for 35 years before retiring as Logistics Operations Manager. 

Dennis was an avid golfer and a “Silly Goose”, who never let the truth get in the way of a good story.  He was a loving father and grandfather.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ed Norton.

He is survived by his children: Heather Hinton, Justin Buchanan and Tyler Norton; grandchildren: Madeline, Henry, Beckett, Ender, and Brooke.  

He is also survived by his sister: Terri Plemons; brother: Jerry Norton (Sharon); and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Sugar Shack Farms, 301 Martin Dairy Road, Milner, with a service at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited and dress is casual.
