Mrs. Dorothy “Dotte” Traiko Remsnyder age 91, of Zebulon, passed away September 29, 2025.
Dotte was born in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Christ Traiko and the late Anna Lozoroff Traiko. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Miami, Florida, where she graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1951.
Dotte enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served her country from 1952 to 1955 while stationed in Washington, D.C. After completing her service, she returned to Florida and met her future husband, Lee Remsnyder. They were married in 1961. During the 1960s, Dotte and her family worked summers at Dotte’s brother-in-law’s amusement park, Funland, in Panama City Beach.
After moving to Georgia in the late 1960s, she and Lee managed the Lan Mar Marina at Lake Lanier. Dotte then built a career as a legal assistant working for several law firms in Atlanta. Upon retirement in 2004, Dotte and Lee relocated to central Florida and traveled throughout the United States and Canada in their motorhome.
Dotte enjoyed reading military novels, crossword puzzles and classic black and white movies.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Remsnyder and sister, Stella Valley.
She is survived by her daughter: Diane Dunnahoo (Jeff); grandchildren: 1st Sgt. Christopher Hill (Summer), Natalie Cintron (Cameron), William Dunnahoo (Sarah), Miranda Jones (Greg) and Justin Dunnahoo (Lindsey); six great-grandchildren; her niece Victoria Koren (Jon) and step-children: Sandra Deery (Patrick), Linda Kunz and Lee Remsnyder, Jr. and families.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
