Mr. Douglas Edward Lynch, age 81, of Zebulon, passed away July 3, 2025, at his home. Doug grew up in Pike County, son of the late Charles Edward Lynch and the late Ethel Lee Tapley Lynch. For most of his working life, Doug was a brick mason and known to be a perfectionist at his job. When his son was young, Doug coached him in baseball and still enjoyed watching the Little League World Series every year. He also was a NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was Dale Earnhart, Sr.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Marty Harris, his brother, Lynwood Lynch and his sister, Gladys Lynch.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Linda Lynch; children: Diane Harris of Milner and Keith Lynch (Teresa) of Pike County.
He is also survived by his grandchildren who affectionately called him Popsi: Courtney Dunn (Denny), Lauren Rector (Blake), Kaleb Lynch (Jamie), Kolby Lynch (Anna), and Olivia Lynch; great-grandchildren: Brookelyn, Kyndall, Ellyana, Cheyanne, Cecilia, Blakely, Emma, Addi, Lana, and two great-grandsons coming soon; brother and sister: Dennis Lynch of Williamson and Patsy Mangham (Joe) of Zebulon; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11 a.m., in Moody Memorial Gardens with Mr. Leonard Shirley and Pastor Jim Pitts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meansville Baptist Church, Youth and Children’s Ministry, P.O. Box 239, Meansville, GA 30256, in memory of Doug.
