Elizabeth Dianne Peters Armistead

Mrs. Elizabeth Dianne Peters Armistead, known to many as Mom, Granny, Dooney and Friend, age 80, of Williamson, passed away December 15, 2025.  Dianne grew up in Silvertown and graduated from R. E. Lee Institute in Thomaston.  She was a hardworking woman who was committed to her career for many years before retirement. After retirement, she found joy in church activities, Red Hat Society, and traveling with friends. Most importantly, she always enjoyed spending time with family. Whether it was family reunions, days at the ballfield, or just having a cup of coffee, she enjoyed the company and time together.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Doug Armistead, parents, Ray Thomas Peters and Verlon Bennett Peters, her son, Duane Armistead, brothers and sister, Robbie Peters, Ronald Peters and Patsy Pollard, and her son-in-law, Paul Holloway.

She is survived by her children: Michael Douglas Armistead (Leslie) and Deidre Armistead Holloway; grandchildren: Kaydee Boswell (Thomas) and Dylan Armistead (Taylor); great-grandchildren: Laikyn, Cooper, Gracie and Olivia Boswell; brother: Windell Peters (Linda); special friend: Roy Dalton; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Stutsman officiating. Burial will follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
