Elizabeth Rebecca “Becky” Wallace

Mrs. Elizabeth Rebecca “Becky” Wallace, age 78, of Williamson, passed away July 30, 2026, at her home. Becky grew up in southeast Atlanta, the daughter of the late Winford Connell and the late Elizabeth Walker Connell.

After graduating from East Atlanta High School, Becky earned her bachelor's degree in Hospital Management from Georgia State University. She began her career in the personnel department at Griffin Hospital before working for the State of Georgia, where she inspected and audited nursing homes and hospitals. After the birth of her sons, Becky devoted herself to being a homemaker.

Becky loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed her frequent trips to Fernandina Beach, a place that held a special place in her heart and that she visited every year of her life. She loved having her grandchildren, Walker and Elsie, at the beach with her. They were the light of her life. She faithfully supported her husband and sons in all of their hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities. Richard often said that Becky made his lifelong dreams come true.

Becky was an excellent cook and often prepared large family meals. She enjoyed working with the flowers and plants in her yard and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. Becky grew up in the Methodist Church and was a longtime member of Williamson Methodist Church.

Becky’s greatest joy was her family and she devoted her life to loving and caring for them.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hugh and Elsie Wallace and her sister-in-law, Virginia Wallace.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Richard Wallace; sons: Richey Wallace, John Wallace (Cheryl), and Michael Wallace; grandchildren: Walker Charles Wallace and Elsie Katharine Wallace; brothers and a sister: Lester Connell (Marcia), Rodney Connell and Claudia Rowe (Randy); sister-in-law: Peggy Wallace; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Williamson Methodist Church, 20 2nd District Road, Williamson. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the Church. Pastor Billy Beard will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
