Eloise Hickman Cornwell-Cobb


Mrs. Eloise Hickman Cornwell-Cobb, age 86, of Griffin, GA, passed away January 9, 2026.  Eloise grew up in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Edgar Eric Hickman and Addie May Free Hickman.  She was a member of both the Charles S. Harrison American Legion Unit 35 and the VFW in Columbus. Eloise moved to Griffin in 1980 where she worked as a CNA for many years at Spalding Regional Hospital. She was a loving and devoted mother and MeMe who took wonderful care of everyone.  She enjoyed dancing and singing Karaoke.  

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Cornwell and Hugh Cobb and her son, Donnie Phillips.

She is survived by her children: Ronnie Phillips and Vickie Kennison (Sam); grandchildren: Jesse Phillips, Chris Fain, Allison Stebe; great-grandson: Dawson Edward Stebe; niece: Gay Ballew; and nephew: John Hickman (Vickie).

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home.  

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.
