Mrs. Etta Owen Bottoms Turner, age 85, of Williamson, passed away May 20, 2026, at her home. Etta grew up in Pike County, daughter of the late Johnny Bottoms and Faye Clark Bottoms. She graduated from Pike County High School in 1958. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and her master’s degree from Emory University. Etta worked as a nurse practitioner at Spalding County Health Department for 10 years and then at Peachtree City OBGYN for an additional 10 years.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping. Etta was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the young ministry. She was deeply devoted to her family and loved the time she spent with them.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Kelley.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Mitchell Turner, Jr.; children: Reneé Ellison (Lee) and Clark Mitchell Turner III (Janice); grandchildren: Clark Mitchell Turner IV, Ashton Turner (Jackson Maier), Tyler Turner, Sean O’Brien (Hannah Richards and daughter Remie), Katie Hand (Dylan) and Chase Ellison (Morgan); great-grandchildren: Lydia, Claire, Joel, Hazel Reneé, Parker and Riley; sisters: Eleanor Kelley, Johnette Janney (Earl), and Diane Janney; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service celebrating Etta’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 2 p.m., in Concord Baptist Church, 9670 GA 18, Concord, GA 30206. Pastor Tom Eckman and Pastor Jeff Yearwood will officiate.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the church.
