Forrest Dwight “Frosty” Davis

Forrest Dwight “Frosty” Davis, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Hampton, Georgia, on June 29, 2026.

Forrest was born on February 3, 1948, in Washington State, to the late Otis and Marion Davis, and later moved to Aiken, South Carolina, where he spent his formative years. A standout athlete from a young age, he was recruited out of high school by the legendary Bobby Dodd to play football for Georgia Tech. During his distinguished collegiate athletic career, he was honored as Letterman of the Year, beginning a lifelong devotion to the Yellow Jackets. Following his time at Georgia Tech, Forrest went on to build a meaningful, dedicated career spanning many years with Delta Air Lines, from which he later retired.

Known for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to his family, Forrest was an avid sports enthusiast. He spent his free time cheering on his beloved Yellow Jackets, analyzing the latest games, and sharing his passion for sports with friends and family.

His greatest joy, however, was his family, and he took immense pride in watching them grow. He was a deeply devoted husband, happily married for over 50 beautiful years to his beloved wife, Karin Davis, who preceded him in death in 2024.

Forrest is survived by his children, Rhonda Bass and her husband, Stephan Bass, and Suzanne Pennington Davis Thomas and her husband, Charles Eric Thomas; his cherished grandchildren, Stephan Bass, Jr., Forrest “Woody” Bass, Melvin Bass, and Erianna Versnel; and his adored great-grandchildren, Landen Bass and Sage Bass.

In addition to his wife, Karin, he was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Marion Davis, and his son, Lenny Davis.
