George Willie Ellington

Mr. George Willie Ellington, age 77 of Thomaston, died Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mr. Ellington was born on January 23, 1949, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Walter Douglas Ellington and the late Mary Yeargin Ellington. He worked at Coca Cola as a Service Technician for 20 years and was a Volunteer Firefighter at Rock Hill Fire Department for 32 years.   He attended Mountain View Baptist Church and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and drag racing.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Mather McDuffie, Walter Ellington.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Wright Ellington of Thomaston, sons, James D. Ellington of Thomaston, Rusty (Geana) Ellington of Thomaston, grandchildren, Justin Ellington, Paige (Dustin) Pate, Colby Ellington and Logan Ellington all of Thomaston.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Upson Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m-2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church.
