Geraldine “Gerri” Stevens Samples

Mrs. Geraldine “Gerri” Stevens Samples, age 69, of Concord, passed away May 18, 2025, at her home.  Gerri grew up in Fairburn, daughter of the late Cecil Don Stevens and Frances Ann Lee Stevens.  Gerri worked for the Federal Government as a Procurement Specialist at General Services Administration (GSA), first in Palmetto and then in Atlanta. She retired after 27 years. She was a member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church Hollonville. Gerri had a big personality and enjoyed cooking Sunday meals, planting in her yard, being outdoors, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dustain Mayo.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years: Randy Samples; children: Traci Flanagan (Steve), Danny McElwaney (Holly), Shane Samples (Hillary), Kimberly Morgan (Timmy) and Robin Bright (Al); brothers: Mark Stevens, Boyd Stevens and Stevie Stevens; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Gerri’s life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, 4 p.m., at Harps Crossing Baptist Church Hollonville. Pastor Chris Watson will officiate.
