Gloria June Akins

Mrs. Gloria June Akins, age 88, of Thomaston, died Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Akins was born on June 10, 1937, in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Lloyd Akins and the late Florence Daniel Akins.  She worked for Goodies Manufacturing and was a member of Church of Christ in Thomaston.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Akins, Daniel Akins, Ronald Akins, LeRoy Akins, Billy Akins, and Gary Akins.

Survivors include her sister, Catherine Hornett, nieces and nephews, Rhonda Wyatt, Cindy (Marc) Goins, John Akins, and several others.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Emory's Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday June 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
