Mr. Harvey Thomas Wilson peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 15, 2025, surrounded by many who loved him. Born on December 31, 1937, in Pike County, Georgia, Harvey’s life was firmly rooted in faith, which was evident in his kindness, integrity, and a deep love for others.

A retired General Foreman at Delta Air Lines, Harvey took great pride in his work and in serving his country as a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. Beyond his professional life, he was known for his gift of storytelling. He authored and published numerous children’s books, worked as a professional storyteller for The Rock Ranch, and shared his talents in libraries across Georgia—bringing joy to countless children and adults.

After retiring, Harvey continued his ministry as Senior Adult Pastor at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin, where his compassion and wisdom touched many lives. His faith was evident in everything he did, and he was a source of encouragement and inspiration to all who knew him.

Harvey’s interests reflected his vibrant personality. He loved playing guitar and harmonica, singing, enjoying time with family and friends, and swapping hunting stories. His impressive firearm collection was a great source of pride and often sparked lively conversations. He also found great joy in the beauty of the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nanilene; his son, Anthony “Tony” Wilson; and his parents, Ewell and Lessie Wilson.

Harvey’s greatest joy was his family, which he cherished deeply. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kim Wilson; daughter, Sandy (Randy) Harris; son, John (Kelly) Wilson; and stepchildren, Brittiny (Don) Johnson, Jared (Katie) Barber, and Caleb Barber. He was a proud grandfather to Heather (Justin) Carter, Nathan (Shelby) Wilson, Zachary (Shelby) Wilson, Summer Walker, C.J. Harris, Daniel Harris, Isaac Harris, Taylor Johnson, Cami Johnson, Delaney Johnson, Baker Barber, Kinleigh Grant, Lola Grant, Parker Youngs, Brooks Barber, Wells Barber, Casey (Jessica) Harris, and Jessica (Brian) Sheppard; and a joyful great-grandfather to Abram, Raegan, Haven, McKinli, Adeline, Emberlynn, Leo, Callie, Autrey, Skylar, Brooklyn, Luke, Emily, Reid and Lily.

Harvey’s life was a beautiful example of faith, love, and service. His smile, his stories, and his unwavering devotion to God and family will be remembered and treasured forever.
