Horace Trice


Mr. Horace Trice (“Baby”) was born on November 24, 1944, in Upson County, Georgia, to the late Horace Trice and Pearline Thigpen Trice. He peacefully departed this life on July 27, 2026, in Phenix City, Alabama.

When he wasn't working, Horace found happiness in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. His warm smile, generous spirit, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all whose lives he touched. He was loved by many and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and kindness. A skilled painter by trade, he was known by family, friends, and clients as one of the best. His dedication to his craft and the pride he took in his work earned him the respect of everyone who knew him.

Horace was the proud father of six children: Lisa Spann of Phenix City, Alabama; Renee "Nukie" Burt of Phenix City, Alabama; Terry Trice of Thomaston, Georgia; Jerry Trice of Thomaston, Georgia; Brandi Trice of Manchester, Georgia; and Eric Trice of Thomaston, Georgia. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Larry Trice and Robert Trice; and his sister, Barbara Grier.

A service to celebrate Horace's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Southview Cemetery in Thomaston Georgia with Pastor Keegan Gross officiating.
