Irma Sue Jackson

Mrs. Irma Sue Jackson, age 87, of Hampton, passed away August 7, 2026, at her home. Irma Sue grew up in the Hapeville-Atlanta area, daughter of the late George Willard Wade, Sr. and the late Edna Christine Hale Wade. She attended Hapeville High School. Irma Sue worked as a forklift driver for Cotter & Company, a hardware wholesaler, where she also worked in the warehouse and office.

Irma Sue enjoyed working in her yard, tending to her flowers and shrubs, as well as sewing, quilting, and canning. She was known for her wonderful fig preserves, watermelon rind pickles, and her fried peach pies. A strong and determined woman, Irma Sue was a devoted mother to her four boys. She had a soft and tender side, especially when it came to the people she loved.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Durward Jackson and her son, Charles Dwayne Jackson.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Darrell and Lisa Jackson, Dwight and Dawn Jackson, and Darrin and Lynn Jackson; grand-children: Dwight Jackson, Jr., Daniel Paul Jackson, Dylan Lane Jackson, Amandadee Jackson, Emily Jackson, Dawson Jackson, Adam Livingston and D. J. Livingston; nine great-grandchildren; brother: George Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 2 p.m., in Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro.
