Janet Swails Spoon

Mrs. Janet Swails Spoon age 88 of Thomaston Ga, died Tuesday February 11, 2025, at Riverside Health and Rehab. 


Mrs. Spoon was born on October 31, 1936, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late Charlie Swails, and the late Ann Jackson Swails.  She worked at Lewis Jones as a cashier and was a member of Emory's Chapel Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Eugene Spoon, son, Charlie Spoon, brother, Richard Swails, sisters, Loretta Carpenter, Myrtle Hill, and Catherine Cato.


Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda (Al) Curry) of Yatesville, Sherry (Bill) Fleegle of Palmyra, Virginia, son, Donny (Nikkie) Spoon of Thomaston, brothers, Charles Swails, Roy Swails, Jerry Swails, Neil Swails, sister, Linda Waddle of Thomaston, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great- grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Emory's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
