Mrs. Jean McGill, age 81, of Hampton, passed away on April 14, 2026. Born and raised in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Elizabeth Doster.
Jean was the business finance manager for Emory at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta for 32 years. Following her retirement, she spent much of her time volunteering with the American Legion and VFW in Jonesboro.
Jean was a strong and independent woman who lived life her way. She found joy in music, loved singing karaoke, and was an avid reader. She was also talented with her hands, crocheting hats, gloves, and slippers for herself and others.
More than anything, Jean loved her family and treasured the time spent with them.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, her sister, Judy, and grandson, Michael.
She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Butler (Jay), Faye Terrazas (Andrew), and Margie Revis (Stacy); grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler, Brett, Christopher, Matthew and Sierra; 7 great-grandchildren; sister: Carrie Terrell; brother-in-law: Larry Casey; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jean’s life is being planned and will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winship Cancer Institute of Emory
