Jerry Lee Murph

Mr. Jerry Lee Murph, age 72, of Griffin, passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2025. He was born in Griffin to the late Walter Murph and Nell Crosby Murph. In his early career, Jerry worked as a Plant Manager at Gaubert Industries in Hampton, GA for 14 years, and later as a Maintenance Manager at Sylvan Grove and Spalding Regional Hospitals for 15 years. He was known for his love of fishing and collecting stuff, but Jerry was also an avid beekeeper who enjoyed sharing honey with family and friends. He was a kind and devoted caregiver who touched many lives.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Marion Mercer.

He is survived by his wife: Lillian Murph; children: Michael Shannon Murph, Misty Starr Murph, Billy Parham (Jessica) and Josh Parham (Cindy); special aunt: Peggy Townsend; niece: Vickie Smith (Cecil); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog and companion: Jay.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew DeLee officiating.
