John Wayne Lowry Sr

Mr. John Wayne Lowry Sr. age 73 of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. 

Mr. Lowry was born on November 6, 1952, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Arggie Ree Lowry and the late Mozell Torbert Lewis.  He worked as a chicken farmer; he loved blue grass music and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Dayne Lowry.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy (David Berry) Lowry, Kelly Lowry, Shanna (Jamie) Matheny, Amber (Derrick) Henry, Rachel Lowry, son, Wayne Lowry Jr. sixteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from Shiloh Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
