John Wesley Henderson, Jr

John Wesley Henderson, Jr., age 81, of Griffin, passed away December 7, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice. He was born on August 8, 1944, in Atlanta, to the late John Wesley Henderson, Sr. and the late Doris Henderson. 

Wesley’s uniquely spirited, delightfully unconventional ways—equal parts endearing and unpredictably entertaining—filled our lives with stories we’ll be telling for decades. His one-of-a-kind presence brought warmth, laughter, and just the right amount of gentle chaos to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son John Wesley Henderson III; brothers: Herb Henderson, David Henderson; and sisters: Elaine Peppers, Patricia Henderson.

He is survived by his children: Rhonda (Ken) McGuire, Julie (Steve) Platt; grandchildren: Kyle (Elsie) McGuire, Justin Finn, Brianne (Mark) Moore; great-grandchildren: Jude McGuire, River McGuire, Violet McGuire, Opal McGuire, Jett Finn; brother: Benny Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
