Joseph “Joe” Stansell


Mr. Joseph “Joe” Stansell, age 66, of Pike County, passed away February 18, 2026, at his home.  Joe grew up in the Thomaston and Yatesville areas. He was the son of the late Charles Rudolph Stansell, Sr. and the late Joann Jones Stansell. He began working as a logger at the age of 21 and made it his lifelong career.  He was known as a dedicated and hardworking man. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, fishing, and looking at property.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Stansell and his grandmother, Ellen Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Anne Stansell; children: Naomi Atkins, Aaron Thomas (Deyci), Eve Stansell, and Micah Stansell; grandchildren: Aaralyn, Joanna, Thomas, and Isaac Thomas; brother: Charles Rudolph Stansell, Jr. (Brenda) and Stormi Stansell; several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville.  

A Celebration of Life for Joe is also being planned. The family will share details when they are available.
