Joyce Booth Gunn

Mrs. Joyce Booth Gunn, age 78, of Thomaston died Monday, September 23, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  Her family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

 

Mrs. Gunn was born on May 30, 1946, in Thomaston, to the late Jack Cameron Booth, Sr. and the late Frances Louise McCard Booth.  She was formerly employed in the lab at the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills.  She loved going to the casino in Biloxi, she never met a stranger, and she enjoyed the outdoors.  She liked water skiing, and she taught other family members to ski.  Mrs Gunn was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gunn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Gunn, and three brothers: Donald Booth, J. C. Booth, Jr., and Wayne Booth.  She is survived by three daughters: Sandra (Bill) Bobbitt of Byron, GA, Kelly (George) Andrews of Zebulon, GA, and Lisa Folds of Zebulon, GA; a sister, Linda (Johnny) Daniel of Yatesville, GA; two sisters-in-law: Pennie Atkins and Beth Blair; ten grandchildren: Courtney Avery, Hunter Bobbitt, Becca Bobbitt, Dana (Teddy) Pratt, Amelia Wiggins, Halley (Victor) Morales, Kaylan Andrews, Makayla Folds, Camron Folds, and Kaylia Folds; three great grandchildren: Briggs Avery, Chapel Avery, and Avonlea Pratt; a nephew, Steve Daniel; and a great niece, Kenslee Daniel.
