Kelly Jo Kirksey Holland

Mrs. Kelly Jo Kirksey Holland, age 61, of Sanford, NC, passed away August 16, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.

Kelly grew up in Forest Park and moved with her family to Pike County when she was in the 8th grade. In the 1980s, while working at Piggly Wiggly in Griffin, she met her husband, Mark. They moved to Alabama where they lived for many years and only recently settled in North Carolina.

Kelly worked as a phlebotomist at Southern Regional Hospital and later in a Griffin laboratory. After the birth of her son, Andrew, she became a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She found joy in her Bible study group and loved taking part in Living History reenactments and demonstrations. Kelly was a kind and loving person who was very devoted to her family. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bentley Kirksey.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years: Mark Holland; son: Andrew Holland (Rachael); daughter: Kala Holland; grandchildren: Leland, Charlotte and Brooks Holland and Kadence; mother: Sandra Kirksey; sister: Allison Turner (Brian); brother: Jon Kirksey (Jennifer); several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens in Griffin.

Friends may visit on Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
