Kenneth Lanier Ison

Mr. Kenneth Lanier Ison, age 87, of Zebulon, passed away November 4, 2024, at Warm Springs Nursing Center.  Mr. Ison grew up in Zebulon and was in the first graduating class of Pike County High School.  He worked for William Carter Company for 39 years before retiring.  He enjoyed fishing, farming and his family.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife:  Anne Henderson Ison, parents Clarence Ison and Georgia Jewel Williams Ison, and his brother, Jack Ison.

 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: David and Carol Ison of Woodland; daughter: Dana Simmons of Zebulon; grandchildren and their spouses: Ashley and David Reeves, Alison and Corey Brinson, Jessie and Justin Leonard, Heather and Derek Scott, Jenna and Brett Williams and Bristol and Josh Follett; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Shirley Ison, Jenny Callaway (William), Mattie Wohner, J.W. Henderson (Bobbie Wester); many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens in Griffin.

 

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
