Lamar County Schools Issue Statement

Lamar County Schools is cooperating fully with the Barnesville Police Department and the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) in connection with an ongoing investigation involving allegations concerning the conduct of a paraprofessional at Lamar County Primary School.

Upon becoming aware of the allegations, the district promptly initiated an internal review, removed the employee from campus, and notified DFCS. The employee has not returned to campus since that time.

The safety, welfare, and well-being of our students remain the district's highest priority. Lamar County Schools takes all allegations involving student safety seriously and remains committed to cooperating with the appropriate authorities throughout the investigative process.
