Linda Lee Daniel, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in Thomaston, Georgia surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 19, 1945 in Savannah, Georgia to William Kenneth Heckman Sr. and Birtie Mae Edwards.
A native of Savannah, Linda grew up in the Parkside neighborhood and attended several of the local schools. She graduated with Savannah High’s Class of 1964. While living in Savannah she attended church at First Baptist Church of Savannah. Soon after graduation, she began working as a bank teller at Liberty National Bank. In 1965, she married Travis Elder Daniel of Thomaston Georgia and moved to Thomaston making it her home. She continued her career in banking at The Bank of Upson and retired after forty-three years of service. After her retirement she devoted herself to helping others by becoming a personal caregiver. She spent many years providing support, love and care to families and their loved ones
She was a long time member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In her earlier years, she volunteered in the children and student ministries. When no longer able to attend in person, she continued to be a faithful member by watching the televised services every Sundaymorning.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Michael Elder Daniel, and sister-in-law Gayle Heckman.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Quinton (Joseph), granddaughter Ashlee McChargue (Caleb), great grandson Joseph “JoJo” all of Thomaston, one brother William Kenneth Heckman of Florence Mississippi, two sisters Dianne Sather and Jane Seckinger (Calvin,) stepmother Reba Cain all of Savannah, former husband and forever friend Travis Elder Daniel of Thomaston, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Southern Grace Hospice for their care and services over the past few months. Linda’s warmth, laughter, and love will be remembered by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 12 from 2p.m.to 4p.m. at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Southern Grace Hospice or your favorite charity.
