Lynnel Harden, 95, of Griffin, Georgia went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2026.
Lynnel was born on October 5, 1930, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Ambrose Littleton Hudgins and Beulah Hudgins Sparks. She was the youngest of three daughters and dearly loved her late sisters Louise and Loetta.
She grew up mostly in Pike County where she graduated from Zebulon High School in 1947.
She received undergraduate degrees at West Georgia College and University of Southern Mississippi prior to earning her Masters at Georgia State University.
Lynnel was preceded in death by her husband John I. Harden Jr. and is survived by her children and their spouses: Carol J. Harden, David and Donna Marie Harden, Linda Harden and Donald and Marie Harden, and several nieces and nephews.
Lynnel taught fourth grade in Griffin, Georgia. She enjoyed family, nature, cooking, canning and freezing, sewing, crafting, reading, and word puzzles. She valued Christian fellowship and was generous with church activities and helping others. She last attended Flat Rock Primitive Baptist Church in Zebulon but also loved First Baptist Church in Griffin where she was a member.
The family appreciates the caretakers from Pike Manor At Home and the care from Eternal Hope Hospice in her last days.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Elder Chris Hill officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Zebulon.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
