Mabel Bridges Parker McDonald

Mrs. Mabel Bridges Parker McDonald, age 80 of Thomaston, died Sunday April 12, 2026 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. McDonald was born on February 7, 1946 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Willie Frank Parker, and the late Matrice Bridges Parker.  She worked at the Warm Springs Roosevelt Institute and was a member of The Rock Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Paul Mitcham Jr. and sisters, Evelyn King, Louise Powell, and Lillie Mae Brooks, and brothers, Ralph Parker, and Willie Frank Parker Jr.

Survivors include her husband, David McDonald, daughter, Karen Robinson, sons, Glenn (Anne Marie) McDonald, Alan (Donna) McDonald, twenty one grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
