Marilene B. Ballard

Marilene B. Ballard of 229 Roberts St. Griffin, GA, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning at 9:19 am. She was the daughter of the late James M. Buffington and Eugenia Lyles Buffington of Zebulon, GA. She was born in Pike County, GA. She lived in Orlando, FL and Andersonville, GA. during her young childhood. She graduated from Pike County High School in 1962.

She is survived by her Son Christopher Brian Ballard, Sister Catherine (Buffington) Anderson, Brother-in-law Jeffrey Anderson, Nephews Rodney (Tammy) Reagan, David (Emily) Reagan, and Niece Angela Graziano. She is also survived by several grand and great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Marilene loved to work in her yard.  She grew beautiful flowers and had a beautifully landscaped yard. She loved sharing her expertise in flower gardening with her neighbors.

Marilene had a great love for cats. She raised many cats during the last few years. They were such a lot of company for her and they loved her dearly. She also loved to visit a small pond where a group of geese lived. She fed them bread every time she walked, and the geese would eat out of her hand.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.

A service celebrating Marilene’s life will follow at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Vanessa Milligan officiating.
