Martin “Marty” Allen Jones, Sr

Mr. Martin “Marty” Allen Jones, Sr., age 71, of The Rock, passed away April 30, 2026.  Marty was born in Thomaston, son of the late Lee Franklin Jones and Merelyn Allen Jones. Marty worked for B.F. Goodrich/Martha Mills in Thomaston for many years and more recently was a truck driver for Rock-It Sand and Gravel.  He liked being outdoors and going to truck pulls. Marty loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Creamer Jones. 

He is survived by his sons: Marvin Jones and Martin Jones (Erin Gilbert) all of Thomaston; grandchildren: Aniston Jones, Abel Jones, Tanner Gilbert; sister: Robbin Ray (Danny); brother: Timothy Jones; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Raines officiating. Burial will follow in Mudbridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Meansville. 

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
