Mrs. Mary Frances Caldwell Orange, age 94, of Thomaston, passed away October 13, 2025. Frances grew up in Thomaston, daughter of the late Windham Caldwell and the late Lala Ivey Caldwell.
She lived in Forest Park for 40 years, where she worked at Laundry Padding. After moving back to Thomaston in 1989, she worked for Thomaston Mills and later Southern Mills.
Frances was known for her humor and lively spirit. She was a cut-up who loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed attending senior fishing days at the Greatest Generation Park in Thomaston, crocheting, and playing rummy with friends and family.
For many years, she attended Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Thomaston and more recently Flat Rock Primitive Baptist Church in Zebulon.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leon Caldwell, Leo Caldwell, Wilma Smallwood and Billy Caldwell, her sons-in-law, Pete Knight and Howard Cline, and great-grandchildren, Madeline Cline and Hunter Knight.
She is survived by her children: Elaine Knight, Frankie Maddox and Patsy Cline;
grandchildren: Tracey Knight, Stacy Knight, Casy Knight, Jennifer Long, Melissa Morgan and Wayne Cline; 15 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
