Mary Frances “Honey” Piper Blackmon

Mary Frances “Honey” Piper Blackmon of Warm Springs, Georgia, originally from Barnesville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 17, 1952 to Felton and Lillian Scarborough Piper, Mary Frances, lovingly known as Honey, lived a life that radiated joy, creativity, and love. She was the devoted wife of Bobby Blackmon, beloved mother of Jeff (Jennifer) Blackmon and Brandy (Kevin) Messer, and proud “Honey” to her grandchildren Dallas Dawson, Kamden Blackmon, Kensley Belcher, Anna and Ben Beard, Christian ( Mady) Messer, Janie Marie Messer, Josie Messer, and Caleb Messer. Her family was her life, and nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent together making memories.

Honey took command of any room she walked into and knew how to turn on her southern belle charm. Everyone loved her vibrant red hair, flashy jewelry and unique sense of style. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcomed.

She loved to dance, meet new people, and shop for … well, anything. Her creativity shown through in floral design, sowing and painting.

Charleston South Carolina was her favorite place to travel with her husband Bobby, taking in the beautiful downtown area and historic sites.

Sitting on the back deck of their mountain side home, listening to soul music took her back in time to a simpler place. She always said “I can’t sing but I can tell you if you can!”.

Most of all, Honey’s life was grounded in her deep faith. She was a faithful Christian whose love for Jesus shaped every part of who she was. Whether through a listening ear, a thoughtful gift, or a funny story, she made sure those around her knew they were loved.

Honey’s family and friends will carry her memory in their hearts forever. Her life was a beautiful reflection of grace, laughter, and the kind of love that points others to God.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday October 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Sunday October 12, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
