Melissa Ann Gatlin Peugh

Ms. Melissa Ann Gatlin Peugh, age 59, of Thomaston, passed away December 7, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  She grew up in Lakeland, FL, daughter of the late Fountain C. Gatlin, Sr.  and Helen M. Skinner Wooten.  Melissa was a homemaker and always fun to be around.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and music, especially the singer, Prince and was a collector of ink pens.  Melissa loved to travel to many places and looked forward to her morning coffee with Ben Colquitt.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sofie, sister, Ruthie Heathcoe, and brothers, Henry Gatlin and Daniel Gatlin.

She is survived by her children: James Peugh (Michelle) of Thomaston, Robert Stanfield (Dana) of MS, Kim Akins of Barnesville, and April Bethune (David Mayfield) of Thomaston.

She was Nanny to many grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Charlotte Patrick, Fountain C. “Buddy” Gatlin, Jr., Virginia Sheridan, Jewel Marsiglio and Jeffrey Gatlin; and many nieces and nephews who were like her own children.
