Melissa Asbury-Coram Prince

Melissa Asbury-Coram Prince, 51 years young, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2026, while enjoying one of the things she loved most—riding her Razor. Though her time on earth ended far too soon, she lived life to the fullest and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Melissa was born in East Point, Georgia, and later moved to Fayetteville, where she was raised and graduated from Fayette County High School with the Class of 1992. She spent several years living in Tennessee before making Pike County, Georgia, her home in 2013, residing in Concord until her passing.

Melissa was married to the love of her life, Jonathan Prince, for three years, though their love story began long before. The two first knew each other in high school and reunited years later, building a life together beginning in 2011. Melissa left this world with the same man who held her heart, a testament to the enduring love they shared.

For more than 15 years, Melissa worked as a medical assistant, dedicating her life to caring for others. She had a servant’s heart and always put the needs of those around her before her own. Whether family, friends, patients, or strangers, Melissa had a way of making people feel loved and cared for.

If you knew Melissa, you knew she loved to have a good time. She was the life of the party, full of adventure, laughter, and stories that could be heard from across the room. Her voice was larger than life—there was never a need to wonder where Melissa was because you could hear her before you saw her. Her loud laugh, playful spirit, and infectious energy brought joy to everyone around her. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making every gathering more fun simply by being there.

Melissa had a deep love for the outdoors and some of life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed riding her Razor, sitting around a fire with a cold beer, listening to music, and spending time at the beach, pool, or river. Above all else, she treasured being surrounded by those she loved. She loved fiercely, wholeheartedly, and without hesitation. Anyone fortunate enough to know Melissa knew they had a loyal friend and a woman whose heart was as big as her personality.

Nothing brought Melissa more happiness than her two beloved granddaughters. They were the light of her life and her entire world. From the moment they were born, she devoted herself to them, and her face would light up with pure joy at the sight of her girls. She cherished every moment spent with them, and the love she had for them was immeasurable. Her grandchildren brought out the very best in her, and she embraced every opportunity to spoil them, make memories, and remind them just how deeply they were loved.

Melissa will be remembered for her big heart, her loud laugh, her adventurous spirit, and the countless lives she touched along the way. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable void, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Melissa is survived by her beloved grandmother, Lissie Partain; her parents, Marie and Bill Asbury; her loving husband, Jonathan Prince; and her children, Ashleigh Asbury, Abbie Coram, Peyton Prince, and Allyson Prince, all of whom she loved wholeheartedly. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kentynn and Westyn McLemore, children of Ashleigh, and Ariyah and Alyza Coram, children of Abbie, all of whom were the light of her life.

She also leaves behind many extended family members and countless dear friends who will forever cherish the joy, laughter, and love she brought into their lives.

She may be gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Mr. Scott McClain and Pastor Walt Weister officiating.
