Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Landers Hanson, age 84, of Zebulon, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Nancy grew up in College Park, daughter of the late James Albert Landers and Ellie Elizabeth Brown Landers. She graduated from College Park High School.
In 1988, she and her husband, Aubrey, moved their family to Pike County. For many years, Nancy served as a pastor’s wife and a cherished “jewel” at The Harvest Time Revival Church in Zebulon. She also worked as a paraprofessional at Pike County Primary School, where she poured love into every child who walked through the doors and faithfully prayed for them.
Nancy had a quiet and meek spirit and was truly a prayer warrior and a Godly example to everyone around her. She was patient, kind, and the quiet strength in the midst of any storm.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Aubrey Gene Hanson, her brother, Jimmy Landers and his wife Carolyn, and her sister, Sara Jo Young.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Wayne and Denise Hanson, Randy and Kelly Hanson, Lynn and Warren Strader, Don and Marci Hanson, Debbie and Jim Harrell and John and Rebekah Hanson; grandchildren and their spouses: Alyssa and Bennett Pardue, Alan and Rebecca Hanson, Alex and Wai Hanson, Jeremy and Baylynn Strader, Kyle Strader, Noah Strader, Brooklyn Strader, Dylan Hanson, Cooper Hanson, Marissa Hanson, Lauren and Perry Hoyal, Jade Harrell, Sarah Harrell, Wil Harrell, Katie Holt, Rebecca Harrell, Leah Harrell, Elizabeth and Matthew McGregor, Georgia and Parker Thaxton and Audrey Hanson.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Wells, Kenna, Easton, Baker, Betty Lane, Dana, Tripp, Caden, Ethan, Ava, Kaylee, Ellie, Waylon, Vada, Paxton, Nora, and baby Harrison on the way; brother-in-law: Ray Young; sisters-in-law: Nancy Palmer, Linda Sue Hanson and Faye Hanson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2 p.m., in Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville. All are welcome.
