Noah Jackson “Jack” Shiflet III

Mr. Noah Jackson “Jack” Shiflet III, age 84, of Yatesville, passed away April 29, 2026, at his home. Jack grew up in Tampa, Florida. Early in his career, he was a union pipefitter, served as an investigator with the Hillsborough District Attorney’s Office and was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Jack later owned and operated his own business, All Florida Fire Systems (AFFS).

Jack was a people person who never met a stranger. His friendly personality earned him the title of “Mayor” of the Heart of Georgia RV Park in Yatesville, where he and his wife, Carolyn, enjoyed the life of full-time campers. He was of the Baptist faith.

Jack loved cooking a good meal, watching NASCAR and college football, and cheering on his favorite drivers, Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott, as well as the Florida Gators. Above all, Jack treasured time spent with his grandchildren, especially watching them play sports.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delfina Shiflet, an infant brother, Johnny, brothers, Maxie and Butch, and his sister, Florence.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Shiflet; children: Shawne Gifford (Bruce), Shantell Harrel, Jason Shiflet (Suzanne), Cary Cox (Andrea) and Michael Hightower; sister: Maxine Paulk (Farrel); brothers: Donnie Shiflet (Linda) and Ronnie Shiflet (Linda); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog: Diamond.

A celebration of life service for Jack will be held at a later date.
