Mr. Ricky Knight Power, age 61, of Thomaston, passed away on November 17, 2024. He grew up in Molena and graduated from Pike County High School in 1981. Ricky served in the United States Army where he excelled at tennis. He was stationed in Germany for four years. While there, he was ranked as the military’s number one tennis player in Nuremberg and its number two player in all of Germany.
Ricky worked for Dart Container - Solo Cup Company in Thomaston for 20 years. He was a jokester, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed fishing, and playing tennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Stanley Power and Maryann Kendall Melton, and his brother, Randy Stubbs.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: April Power; daughter: Cherish Shushok (John); brothers: Andrew Stubbs (Tina) and Chris Melton (Nicole); step-mother: Jean Bodie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
